Gazi Khan Dudaberi is a folk and Sufi singer from Barmer, Rajasthan, and the lead performer of the Mehar Sufi Qawwali Group. He comes from the Mirasi community, a traditional lineage of musicians known for preserving and performing Sufi and folk music across generations. For Gazi Khan and his group, music is not just a profession—it is a way of life, a passion passed down through ancestral heritage.
In 2025, Gazi Khan gained national recognition after being selected to participate in the reality TV show India’s Talent Fight, a platform dedicated to showcasing diverse artistic talents from across the country.
Initially, Gazi and his group were uncertain about competing on such a prestigious platform. However, driven by their belief in the power of true art, they committed themselves fully to preparing for the auditions. After weeks of rigorous practice in their village, they traveled to audition for the show. Despite their apprehensions, their heartfelt rendition of Sufi kalam (spiritual verses) won over both the audience and the judges.
Their performance earned them a spot in the competition, marking a significant milestone not only for their group but also for their community and the traditional music they represent.
Gazi Khan views this opportunity as more than personal success—it is a victory for Sufi and folk music, and a step toward bringing this cultural heritage to the national and global stage. Through India’s Talent Fight, he hopes to elevate the name of Rajasthan and inspire future generations to embrace and preserve their musical roots.
