Early Life and Background
Himanshu was born and raised in India. His father is an auto-rickshaw driver, and his mother is a homemaker. Music runs in his family—his grandfather was a devotional singer who regularly performed at jagrans and chowkis (Hindu devotional gatherings). Himanshu’s father and uncle also followed in his grandfather’s footsteps, often participating in such events.
From the age of five, Himanshu began attending these devotional gatherings with his uncle’s family. Observing them closely and participating in their singing courses, he developed a deep interest in music. By the age of twelve, he had started singing as a playback artist in jagrans, gradually gaining experience and confidence on stage.
Musical Journey
Himanshu has been actively involved in devotional singing for over 10–11 years. His repertoire includes bhajans, kirtans, and other forms of spiritual music performed at religious events across various localities. Known for his energetic and passionate style, he earned the nickname “Harsh Deewana” from his friends and family, reflecting his expressive and soulful approach to music.
Apart from singing, Himanshu also enjoys playing the dholak, a traditional Indian percussion instrument. He often accompanies other singers during performances and occasionally plays the dholak during devotional events.
