ITF Dancer Avinash Sharma Bhilwara
Hello, my name is Avinash Sharma, and I am from Bhilwara, Rajasthan.
I have been passionate about dance since childhood, and dance means everything to me. The reason people know me today is only because of dance.
My dance journey began in a very simple way — I started dancing by watching Hrithik Roshan on TV without any formal training. I must have been around 5 years old. Whenever there were weddings or Garba events at someone’s house, I would either perform or go there just to dance.
Then one day, I saw Dharmesh Sir’s flute audition round on Dance India Dance Season 2, and that moment sparked a dream in me — to learn dance seriously and become like him. Even today, I consider Dharmesh Sir my idol.
Later, I joined a dance class in Bhilwara, where I learned some basics. But I wanted to do something different, something unique. I found out that I needed to learn Lyrical Hip Hop, and through Facebook, I came to know that workshops were being held in Kota.
Kota is about 170 km from my city. Still, I traveled there daily to learn Lyrical Hip Hop — a style no one was teaching in my hometown. That’s where I met my guru, Raj Sir, who is a choreographer for many reality shows. He was a master of the style I wanted to learn. Whatever I am today is because of my guru and my mother, who has always supported me in dance.
My father left us when I was a child, and it was just me and my mom. We’ve been through many ups and downs, but she has never stopped supporting me.
The ITF (Indian Talent Fight) stage has also given me a lot. I had participated in ITF Season 2 before, but I was eliminated in the semi-finals. This time, I’ve been given another opportunity by ITF, and I will come back fully prepared — this time, I want to win 🥇
