ITF Duet Singer M.S. Nizami Brothers Delhi
MS Nizami Brothers® is the collective stage name of Indian Sufi and classical vocalists Mohsin Zafar Nizami, Salman Zafar Nizami, and Amaan Zafar Nizami. The trio, originally from Delhi, are prominent torchbearers of the Delhi Gharana of Indian classical music and are well-known for their soulful renditions of Qawwali, Sufi, and Bollywood fusion performances.
Early Life and Musical Lineage
The Nizami Brothers hail from a distinguished lineage of musicians associated with the Delhi Gharana, one of the most revered schools in Indian classical music. They are sons and disciples of Late Ustaad Zafar Ahmed Nizami, and have inherited their art from a family legacy of over 850 years.
They began their training in classical singing at the ages of 10 and 12 under the mentorship of their father and were further groomed by renowned maestros:
Ustaad Akhtar Nawaz Khan Sahab (Kirana Gharana),
Ustaad Hamsar Hayat Nizami (Sikandrabad Gharana),
Ustaad Iqbal Ahmed Khan (Khalifa of Delhi Gharana).
Their musical heritage includes illustrious ancestors such as:
Ustaad Noor Mohammed Khan Sahab (noted tabla player),
Ustaad Niyaz Ahmed Khan Sahab (All India Radio-approved classical artist),
Ustaad Abdul Hameed Sabri Nizami (renowned Sufi vocalist).
Legacy and Impact
MS Nizami Brothers® are regarded as cultural ambassadors of traditional Sufi music, blending age-old Gayaki (vocal tradition) with modern sensibilities. Their performances often center on the themes of divine love, spiritual unity, and peace—values deeply rooted in the Chishti Sufi tradition.
They continue to inspire younger generations by conducting workshops, participating in reality TV shows like India’s Talent Fight, and through digital platforms, ensuring that their rich musical heritage remains vibrant and relevant.
