ITF Mimicry artist Shivam Goswami Dhanbad
Shivam Goswami is an Indian mimicry artist and performer from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. He is known for his impressions of film and television personalities—particularly the late Amrish Puri—and for competing on the television reality show India’s Talent Fight.
Early life
Shivam Goswami was born and raised in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. His mother is a homemaker and his father is retired from BCCL. From a young age he developed an interest in performance and vocal mimicry.
Career
Goswami began learning mimicry approximately seven years ago, inspired by the voice and dialogue delivery of the veteran actor Amrish Puri. He discovered early on that by controlling his breathing and vocal resonance he could produce a deeper, fuller timbre similar to Puri’s. After positive feedback from listeners when he performed Puri’s dialogues, Goswami expanded his practice using online resources such as YouTube and by studying the voices of various actresses and other performers.
He can reproduce the voices of between 15 and 18 different people and cites Amrish Puri’s voice as his principal inspiration. Goswami has stated that one of his ambitions is to keep Amrish Puri’s vocal legacy alive by bringing those impressions to a wider audience through platforms like India’s Talent Fight.
Style and abilities
Goswami’s mimicry work emphasizes vocal timbre, breath control, and accurate dialogue delivery. Outside of mimicry, he enjoys skipping (jump rope) and has a secondary physical skill in which he can make the veins in his neck visibly prominent as a stage effect.
Personal life
Goswami lives in Dhanbad. His family background includes a homemaker mother and a father who worked for and retired from BCCL.
