Shekhar Kandara is an emerging Indian singer from Ambala, Haryana, known for his deep passion for music and inspiring journey from humble beginnings. Born into a musically inclined family, Shekhar inherited his love for music from his grandfather, Jaypal Ji, who performed in Ramleela dramas and sang bhajans, kirtans, and Punjabi songs while playing the dholak. The musical legacy continued with Shekhar’s father, who was known for singing in the styles of legendary playback singers such as Mohammed Rafi, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, and Vinod Rathod.
Inspired by his father and elder brother Raghav Kandara, who plays instruments like the dhol, dholak, tabla, and tasa, Shekhar developed an interest in music at a very young age. At just five years old, he began humming songs and slowly started performing them with confidence.
Coming from a family of ten members and a financially modest background, Shekhar’s journey reflects determination and passion. Despite the challenges of growing up in difficult circumstances, he remained dedicated to music and continued to improve his singing abilities.
