Nand Kishore’s life was immersed in the world of music and performing arts from a young age. Following in his father’s footsteps, Nand began performing in local Ram Leela celebrations, where he played memorable roles such as Bharat, Luv-Kush, and even Sita. These early performances not only refined his stage presence but also instilled in him a profound respect for Indian culture and storytelling through performance.
Musical Journey
With an unwavering passion for the arts, Nand shifted his focus towards music. His musical journey began under the tutelage of Ustad Jameel Ahmed Khan Sahab in Roorkee, where he received rigorous training in both classical and light music. This disciplined foundation laid the groundwork for his lifelong commitment to musical excellence.
In 1983, Nand Kishore officially launched his professional singing career with an orchestra band. Since then, his voice—rich in emotion, versatility, and technical brilliance—has earned him a special place in the hearts of audiences across the country.
Achievements, Recognition, and Performances
Nand’s first song, “Honthon Se Chhoo Lo Tum,” which he performed in the 6th grade, marked the beginning of his musical journey.
He gained national attention by performing at the Uttarakhand Mahotsav in Nainital, sharing the stage with renowned actors like Anu Kapoor and Pallavi Joshi. In 2004, he secured the position of runner-up.
