Singer Salim Juliya (Bikaner) is a talented folk and Sufi singer from the village of Panchu in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan, India. From a very young age, he developed a deep interest in music and musical instruments. His musical journey began early in life when he dedicated himself to the art of singing and playing instruments.
Salim Juliya chose the renowned Rajasthani artist Vishnu Sagar as his guru and received formal training in music under his guidance. Since childhood, he has also been inspired by the legendary Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, whose songs created a deep love for Sufi music in him.
Salim Juliya primarily performs Rajasthani folk songs and Sufi music. He is not only a singer but also a writer (lyricist), continuously creating new songs to promote and preserve the Rajasthani language and culture.
He is skilled in playing several musical instruments, including harmonium, keyboard, dholak, and khartal. Because of his versatile talent, he beautifully combines singing with instrumental performance on stage.
Salim Juliya is well known for his performances at Rajasthani cultural programs, weddings, jagran events, and other auspicious ceremonies. His voice reflects the sweetness of folk culture along with the depth of Sufi music.
