SINGER KARAMJIT KUMAR DHANBAD

“Dreams see no status, only the aspiration of the heart” I am Karamjeet Kumar. I’m from Dhanbad and currently I’m working as a music educator. In an Indian household, chasing music as a passion is like composing a delicate raga amid rigid rhythms. Especially when you come from a non-musical background and a slightly orthodox society, struggling to comprehend the passion for music sometimes leads to self-doubt.
As a kid, there was something that drew me towards music. But there was no access to instruments, teachers or any guidance. I soared aimlessly in the sky like a directionless kite as a result I used to write songs at the back of my copy. As a teacher we touch several lives knowingly or unknowingly and so did my life change when I met my guruji Jai prakash mahato sir. He made me realise music isn’t just a source of entertainment but music has a profound ability to transcend mere entertainment and connect with our spiritual, emotional, and even cultural aspects.
It was then I started believing in my ability and trying to get into several competitions through which I learnt a lot and later won several competitions. I won the title of Voice of Jharkhand in the year 2018 and several competitions during my course of graduation. That is when the perception of my family and people around me changed and they started believing in me and my art. I had the back of my family through all the crests and troughs. And finally I got my recognition because of India’s talent fight. I promise to all my people who have backed me in any possible way, I’ll stay committed to my art and continue working hard for it.
